West Indies Tour of England 2020

ENG vs WI Squads and other details: Cricket is finally back after four months due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Currently, West Indies team touring England for 3 match test series which was firstly canceled in May. The series was first scheduled in May but after the agreement of both boards, the series was rescheduled in July. The experts are watching this tour as a historic tour because West Indies after taking a major step, is the first team to tour since the COVID-19 outbreak.

The total number of three Test matches will be played and all these Test matches will be part of the ICC Test Championship. The Series will be starting from the 8^th of July 4, 2020. The first match will be played in Rose Bowl, Southampton following with the next two matches at Old Trafford, Manchester.

West Indies:

Prior to the test series, West Indies board given free hand to their players whether they want to tour England or not. So three players Darren Bravo, Keemo Paul, and ShimronHitmyer pulled out of the England tour over then concerns of coronavirus. In addition, the West Indies team will play the whole series with the logo of “Black lives matter” on the collar of the shirt.  However, West Indian board announced the 14-member squad to take on England with 11 reserve players.

Jason Holder (captain), Jermaine Blackwood, Nkrumah Bonner, Kraigg Brathwaite, Shamarh Brooks, John Campbell, Roston Chase, Rahkeem Cornwall, Shane Dowrich, Chemar Holder, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Raymon Reifer, Kemar Roach.

And reserves players:

Sunil Ambris, Joshua da Silva, Shannon Gabriel, Keon Harding, Kyle Mayers, Preston McSween, MarquinoMindley, Shane Moseley, Anderson Phillip, Oshane Thomas, Jomel Warrican.

England:

While on the other hand, ECB should be thankful to the Windies over their historical tour of England. Test captain Joe Root informed his unavailability in the first test match due to the birth of his son. However, the board appointed Ben Stokes to captain England team.ECB announced 30 men squad for their summer season. The squad will train behind the close doors to ensure safety. The board took a major step by adding debutant players in the squad that is yet to appear at the Test level.
